Bayern Munich chairman Uli Hoeness believes Franck Ribery owes the club a good season after they supported the player during a difficult summer.
The 27-year-old has recently declared that he will be trying his utmost to produce an excellent campaign for the German side after a difficult few months.
Ribery has been banned for three France matches for his role in the revolt which brought Les Bleus' World Cup campaign down on its knees over the summer.
He has also had much-publicised problems in his private life, but is keen to put the past behind him and deliver for Bayern.
Hoeness has welcomed Ribery's comments, but having secured the Frenchman on a long-term deal in May, he thinks the attacking midfielder owes the club.
Hoeness told Deutsche Presseagentur: "Franck Ribery is actually in a sort of obligation to provide, he knows best about that.
"The club always remained loyal to Franck Ribery and Franck is aware that this was no matter of course, looking at all those problems he had.
"I like to see him saying he wants to make a big impact in the new season. He needs to be extra motivated at this point in time.
"I am, however, getting information from everyone involved that he is doing great in pre-season."
