Harry happy with his lot

Harry Redknapp has moved to curb speculation linking Tottenham with attacking reinforcements.

Harry Redknapp has moved to curb speculation linking Tottenham with attacking reinforcements.

The Spurs boss insists things have gone quiet for the club on the transfer front, with no further arrivals expected.

He says there are no talks in progress and claims he would have no qualms with working with what he has got once the summer window slams shut on Tuesday at 6pm.

"There is nothing close to being done, not that I know of," said Redknapp.

"We are nowhere near doing a deal for anybody. I'm not that bothered to be honest.

"We had a couple of targets at the start, and we got one of them, but we have a good squad and we will crack on. If we don't find somebody that we feel will make a difference, we will go with what we've got."

Figures

One of those who continue to be linked with a switch to White Hart Lane is Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano, but Redknapp insists the Brazilian is overpriced.

"I think the chairman has enquired," he said.

"He is a player that I like. I think you are talking crazy money for him though.

"He has one year left on his contract, I think, and we are talking in excess of £25million. The figures don't stack up so that won't be a goer at that sort of money."

Redknapp has also distanced himself from reports claiming he is set to make a move for Manchester City's out of favour frontman Roque Santa Cruz.

Plans

He said: "I don't think Man City are going to let anybody go to teams around the top group.

"I saw today that Shay Given could go to Arsenal, but I thought Man City weren't going to sell their players to anybody they felt was going to be challenging for a top four spot alongside them. I don't see that happening."

While further arrivals have been ruled out, Redknapp is also looking to retain the services of those already at his disposal.

That includes Robbie Keane, who took in a loan spell at Celtic last season and has been linked with Newcastle.

He added: "Robbie is here. He is available. He picked up an injury out in Switzerland (against Young Boys) and he wasn't available last Saturday at Stoke.

"He was bang in my plans for Wednesday, but I went with Crouchy and Jermain Defoe. That worked well, they both scored and Peter got a hat-trick. But Robbie is always part of my plans."
