Former West Ham attacker Alessandro Diamanti has revealed he left Upton Park because he was disillusioned at the club.
The 27-year-old Italian completed his move to Brescia earlier in the week after just one season with the Premier League outfit, where he put in a number of eye-catching performances.
However, Diamanti admits that the uncertainty in the dressing room convinced him that it was time to return to his homeland, plus the fact that Avram Grant told him that he would not be a first-team regular.
"Since I signed, West Ham have had financial problems. During the season, no one from the club explained to us what was going on," he said in the News of the World.
"There was a general uncertainty and in the dressing room, we didn't know what to expect.
"No one pushed me out but when I met the new coach Avram Grant, he didn't tell me anything but I understood wouldn't have been a regular in the team.
"When I realised that, I asked my agent to move me as quickly as possible.
"Brescia was my best option. It took a lot to sign for them because West Ham had spent a lot of money on me but I don't have any regrets."
