Eagles target Tigers centre-half

Skysports.com understands Hull City defender Anthony Gardner is to join Crystal Palace on loan. It is reported that the centre-half will move to Selhurst Park on a deal which will run until January 2011. The one cap England international has figured for the Tigers in two of their four Championship fixtures this term, but was left on the bench for Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Doncaster Rovers. He could now be heading for pastures new, with Hull boss Nigel Pearson prepared to part with his services on a short-term basis. Should he move to Palace, he will be joining up with a side who have conceded eight goals already this season. Eagles manager George Burley is understandably keen to tighten up at the back before the transfer window closes, and has identified Gardner as a top target. The injury-hit former Tottenham Hotspur player has been on the books at the KC Stadium since 2008 and suffered relegation out of the Premier League with the Tigers last term.
