Former Stoke and Newcastle midfielder Amdy Faye is on the look-out for a new club after recovering from injury.
Faye, who is a free agent after seeing out his contract at Stoke earlier this summer, has undergone a successful back operation after seeing last season at the Britannia Stadium interrupted by the problem.
Faye is now back to full fitness and is keen to fix himself up a new club so that he can get back playing regularly.
Faye has a wealth of experience having played in the Champions League with Auxerre and also at the World Cup finals with Senegal.
The midfield powerhouse has made over 120 appearances in the Premier League in spells at Portsmouth, Newcastle, Charlton and Stoke.
A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring Faye, with the player able to join a club outside the transfer window because of his free agent status.
Faye's agent, Willie McKay, has confirmed the African is now hoping to find himself a new club as soon as possible.
Raring to go
"Amdy is raring to go to find himself a new club so that he can get back playing," McKay told skysports.com.
"He has had successful surgery on his back problem and he is now back to full fitness.
"We waited for the dust to settle from the transfer window closing before contacting clubs and we will see what offers come in.
"Amdy is one of the best free transfers available now the transfer window has closed and he only left Stoke because Tony Pulis was well-stocked in the midfield department.
"Amdy has played at the highest level for a number of years and he could still do a good job for an ambitious club out there."
