England goalscorers Adam Johnson and Darren Bent have vowed to continue to impress and fight for regular roles for their country.
The pair both came off the bench to score as the Three Lions beat Switzerland in their second Euro 2012 qualifier in Group G.
Winger Johnson, who netted his first international goal against Bulgaria on Friday, was pleased with his impact and is keen for further minutes under manager Fabio Capello.
He told Sky Sports: "It is disappointing not to to start, so you have got to come on and do your best and hopefully push for a place in the starting XI, that is what I try to do."
And Bent, whose goal was his first got England, echoed Johnson's sentiments, adding: "It is a special feeling scoring my first England goal.
"You have got to keep your head down and keep working hard for your club, which is what we have been doing.
"If we keep doing that then we can't be too far away."
Johnson also paid tribute to the result, which ensured England maintained their 100 per cent start to qualifying.
He said: "The mood is very good obviously after two great wins. We look forward to meeting up again full of confidence.
"Coming into qualifying we had a lot of pressure on us. But we have given the fans something to cheer about. Two wins and two great results, top of the group."
