Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar is keen to get back on the goal trail this weekend, with Manchester United locked in his sights.
The South Africa international has failed to find the target since notching against Bolton back in March and is determined to end that drought.
He went agonisingly close to breaking his duck when he struck the crossbar in the Toffees' last outing against Aston Villa, but is still waiting for that elusive strike.
Pienaar knows there would be no better time to get off the mark than against United at Goodison Park on Saturday and he hopes he can inspire David Moyes' men to a first Premier League victory of the season.
"I don't think the team has been playing badly and we've been unfortunate not to pick up three points," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"That's football - sometimes you play well and don't win games. Hopefully on Saturday we can get a win.
"Maybe we're short on luck at the moment but we have to keep going and it will come.
"We need goals and I want to score more.
"I was close at Villa and I was close with the national team last weekend (South Africa beat Niger 2-0 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier).
"Hopefully it will come this Saturday. It would be great for me personally because a lot of my friends support Man United in South Africa and it would be something for me to boast about.
"But it would also be great for the team as well if we can get maximum points."
