Tottenham say Arsenal star 'dived'
Tottenham have accused Samir Nasri of diving during Arsenal's 4-1 Carling Cup win at White Hart Lane.
The third-round clash went into extra-time as the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes after Robbie Keane cancelled out Henri Lansbury's opener.
Then the controversy came as, just moments into added time, Nasri went down under the challenge of Sebastian Bassong.
A penalty was awarded and Nasri stepped up to slot the ball home and set the Gunners on their way to victory.
"He went down too easily, I didn't think it was a penalty," said Bassong.
"He told me afterwards that I barely touched him.
"It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I touched Nasri's chest but I did not grab him. I have seen the video and from my point of view it was not a penalty."
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp backed up Bassong, insisting that the French playmaker went down too easily.
"I thought the first one was harsh," said Redknapp.
"He fell over. Really I think he's dived for the first penalty. The second penalty was a blatant one. He's pulled him."
