Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is hoping the SPL champions can end their Pittodrie hoodoo and win at Aberdeen this weekend.
Rather surprisingly Gers have not won away to Aberdeen in almost four years having suffered a 1-0 defeat in last season's corresponding fixture.
Rangers have an impressive record at most grounds and McGregor is surprised that Walter Smith's all-conquering side have trouble winning at Pittodrie.
McGregor thinks that, if anything, because Aberdeen only have a small ground that perhaps the Old Firm sides struggle to get themselves motivated for the fixture.
Difficult place
"I'm not quite sure why it's such a difficult place to go to," McGregor told
Rangers News.
"When Rangers and Celtic go up there it's maybe easier for them as they aren't expected to get anything from the game and try a little bit harder when the adrenaline is pumping.
"When teams outside the Old Firm go to Pittodrie the crowds are not as big and the atmosphere is not as intense, so perhaps the players find it more difficult to get up for those games.
"That's the way I see it anyway, but it's true that we have never had it easy at Pittodrie and I'm sure it will be another battle this weekend.
"We haven't won up there for a long time. Hopefully we can this weekend."
