Midfielder on the road to recovery after heart attack

Evander Sno is set to resume training with Ajax this week, just a fortnight after suffering a heart attack. The Dutch midfielder collapsed during a reserve run-out on 13th September and had to be resuscitated on the pitch before being rushed to hospital. He was released from medical care last week and has now been given the all-clear to return to training. The 23-year-old is thrilled to be back and admits he has a new outlook on life. "It feels wonderful, really wonderful," the former Celtic and Bristol City ace said in the Daily Record. "It's great just to be able to do things like smell the grass again. "Everything has gone well and it's great to be alive. Things are getting better and I'm feeling healthier."

Support

Sno admits he remembers little of the incident which left him requiring urgent medical attention. He said: "I collapsed and woke up in an ambulance. I wasn't aware of what was going on. "They put an internal cardiac defibrillator inside my body as a precautionary measure. "The fans have been fantastic. I thank everyone for their support."
