Chelsea winger keen on South America

Chelsea winger Florent Malouda plans to bring the curtain down on his professional career with a stint in Brazil. The in-form France international, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Lyon in 2007, has emerged as a key player for the Blues and is under contract until 2013. Malouda, 30, intends to end his European career with the West London club and has set his sights on featuring for his country in the 2014 World Cup, which is being held in Brazil. And he believes it would be a fitting swansong to his playing days to secure a stint with a club in South America.

True country

"It would be great to play for a club like Flamengo or Vasco da Gama," said Malouda. "It is something that I want to do in my life. "I am going to finish my European career in Chelsea but my ambition is to finish at the highest level possible and play in the next World Cup in 2014. "I would like to play some football in Brazil - the true country of football."
