City midfielder yet to contact stricken Magpies winger

Hatem Ben Arfa's agent claims Nigel de Jong is yet to apologise for breaking his client's leg. Newcastle winger Ben Arfa suffered a double fracture when he was on the receiving end of a crunching challenge from Manchester City midfielder De Jong. The Frenchman is set to be sidelined until March 2011 as a result, denying him the opportunity to make the most of his loan spell at St James' Park. The tackle which put him in the treatment room has been widely condemned, with De Jong accused of using excessive force. The Holland international is well aware of the furore surrounding his actions, but Ben Arfa's advisor insists no effort has been made on the Dutchman's behalf to right his wrongs.

Note

"De Jong hasn't been in touch at all," said Simon Stanford. "Brian Marwood, who is a top-class professional person, sent a note from Manchester City saying everyone wished him a speedy recovery and sent a gift, but that's it. "A visit from De Jong wasn't put to him. Brian wanted to visit but Hatem was on morphine at the time. "The facts of the matter are he hasn't been in touch and he hasn't apologised. Brian Marwood has been in touch, but not De Jong."
