Kolo Toure admits he joined Manchester City ' to win trophies' and he has every intention of doing just that.
The Ivory Coast international moved to Eastlands from Arsenal last summer, bringing to an end a glittering eight-year stint in north London.
He is yet to break his silverware duck for City, but the ambitious Blues are determined to end their barren run sooner rather than later.
Toure plans to play a leading role in that quest for success, telling the club's official website: "I came here to win trophies and play Champions League football and that is what we are all working hard to achieve.
"I have played in one great team and I want to be part of another one. I think I still have five or six years to play at the top level and I want to make the most of them.
"People who know me, know that I am as enthusiastic about the game as I have ever been. I look forward to coming into work every single day and seeing this City side keep improving."
Toure saw his first season with City blighted by niggling knocks, preventing him from giving his all to the collective cause.
The 29-year-old insists he is over those problems now, though, and believes there is still plenty more to come from him in the future.
"I feel so much fitter now than I did last season, I have been happy with my form but there is more to come," he declared.
"There was always going to be a period of adjustment because it's not easy to move clubs when you have been used to one way of football life for eight years.
"Now I am settled in Manchester, I know everyone at the club; I know how it all works and feel very happy and comfortable with the way things are going."
