Baggies boss has no problems with Scharner

West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo says there are no problems with Paul Scharner over his reaction to being substituted during the clash with Bolton. The former Wigan Athletic midfielder made his way down the players' tunnel instead of sitting on the bench after being taken off during the 1-1 home draw. Di Matteo was not happy with Scharner's reaction to being replaced, although he is not going to make a big deal over the incident. The 40-year-old would only have a problem with a player if he was happy not to be involved and insists occasional tantrums are nothing new to him.

No big deal

"The substitution was a tactical decision," said Di Matteo. "It happened last year with other players a few times. "I don't want players who are happy not to be playing. Players should be respectful towards their team-mates but it's no big deal for me." The Baggies won away at Arsenal prior to their home draw with Bolton and Di Matteo believes the win has lifted everyone's self belief. "Our win at Arsenal probably gives the players a bit more belief in their own ability," he continued. "But that win is not going to change our attitude because it was always good, very positive and very committed."
