Delio Rossi has warned his Palermo side of the threat CSKA Moscow will pose in the Europa League on Thursday.

Rosanero eager to join Moscow giants at top of group

Palermo head coach Delio Rossi has warned his side of the threat CSKA Moscow pose when they come to town in the Europa League on Thursday. The Russian giants are currently leading Group F with maximum points having won their opening two games and Leonid Slutski's side will pose a major threat to the Italians. However, Rossi is aware that a home win at the Stadio Renzo Barbera would put the Rosanero level on points with CSKA following one win and one defeat so far. The Moscow outfit are in free scoring mode in Europe with a 3-0 win at Lusanne followed by another triumph over Sparta Prague by the same scoreline.

Challenging

"I believe this is not only the most challenging game of the group, but also of other groups," said Rossi. "CSKA are one of the strongest teams in this competition. "They go into this game on the back of six straight wins and I don't feel shame in saying that CSKA are stronger than us. "We have less European experience than them but I hope this will change in the future." Rossi's men head into Thursday's clash riding a four-match winning streak with the Sicilians lying sixth in Serie A.
Importance
Palermo have won all of their home games in Europe this season without conceding a goal and the coach know the importance of the clash. "This game is crucial to qualify to the next stage of the competition. "We will play in front of our fans and we hope to take three points." The Italians will have to keep a close eye on CSKA's strike-force of Seydou Doumbia and Vagner Love. "They are very good players and very dangerous," said Rossi. "They can strike at any time and we will have to limit our mistakes."
