Stephen Hunt revelled in his return to Premier League action after finally making his Wolves debut at the weekend.
The Republic of Ireland international, who was signed from Hull City in the summer, came on as a half-time substitute in the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.
Hunt has not made a Premier League appearance since injuring his foot for the Tigers in February, but he was finally able to pull on a Wolves shirt on Saturday, much to his delight.
"I had a knock on my back during the week and it was touch and go whether I'd be fit or not," Hunt told the club's official website.
"But it was good to be back, typically for me it had to be at Chelsea, but the timing was probably right.
"Fitness-wise I felt fine, it was just a matter of getting up and down the pitch."
Hunt has had to watch on from the stands as Mick McCarthy's men have endured a difficult start to the campaign.
They are without a win since the opening day of the season and remain locked in the bottom three, but Hunt has seen enough to be confident that a revival is just around the corner.
"When you're playing against the bigger teams you seem to raise your game," he added.
"I said to the boys last week that it's more important we keep our level of performance as if we're playing the big teams.
"That's the key and it's massively important we try to maintain that.
"We're in a difficult position, but we've just got to keep battling away doing the things we're doing and hopefully our luck will change."
