Cardiff forward Craig Bellamy believes his man-of-the-match winning display against Leeds was a result of his improving fitness.
The 31-year-old, who arrived at the Bluebirds on loan from Manchester City in the summer, has seen the start of his campaign disrupted by a knee injury.
However, Bellamy managed a full week of training ahead of Cardiff's 4-0 victory at Elland Road and felt he benefitted from preparation.
"This is the first week after the game I've been able to train so I felt the benefits there," Bellamy told Sky Sports News.
"I felt a lot stronger today. It's been tough since I've come here because I had an injury when I came and I've had about seven training sessions in something like two and a half months, which is not enough.
"This week is my full week so I think I've benefitted tonight from the game."
When asked what signal Cardiff have put out to their Championship competition, Bellamy added: "What a good team we have, good players.
"And it was convincing. It was as convincing win as you can get at Elland Road really so we're very happy with that.
"It's a big win. Elland Road is always a tough place to come. But I thought we were worthy winners. I thought we did well."
The comfortable win sees the Bluebirds climb joint top of the Championship standings alongside QPR, and Jay Bothroyd, who notched a brace, was delighted with the team's display.
"It's good to be getting the goals but obviously the team performance is the most important thing," said Bothroyd.
"We've come to a tough place and we've played like we're the home team so we're happy.
"I'm happy to have scored two goals but the most important thing is we're on track, we won away from home, convincingly, and we're going to take it to the next game now."
