Derby County will not rush defender Miles Addison back into action after withdrawing him from a reserve fixture.
The 21-year-old is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on his right foot in March, and was due to face Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.
The big centre-half missed out but manager Nigel Clough insists it was a precautionary measure.
"Miles was set to be on the bench but he reported to the medical team that he felt a little bit sore after training so for the sake of a week or so, we did not risk him," said Clough.
"He will have a good week's training instead.
"It is important to stress he has not suffered a setback, it is just that the game hasn't fallen at the right time for him.
"He is way ahead of schedule and he has worked as hard as any player we have seen with his rehabilitation.
"That is why we don't want to rush him now. The last thing we want is a setback."
Derby's good run of form ended with a 2-0 defeat against Millwall last weekend, and the Rams will look to get back to winning ways with a result against Watford on Saturday.
