Baggies wait on FA decision

West Brom have confirmed they will appeal the red card issued to defender Pablo Ibanez in Monday's 2-1 defeat at Blackpool. The Spaniard was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver in the 11th minute of the defeat at Bloomfield Road after he was adjudged to have brought down Blackpool striker DJ Campbell inside the area. The official deemed Ibanez to have denied Campbell an obvious goalscoring opportunity, a verdict the Baggies dispute after viewing the incident from various television angles. Albion have until 1pm on Wednesday to lodge their appeal with a decision from the FA disciplinary panel expected within 48 hours after that. If West Brom fail in their appeal, Ibanez will miss Sunday's game against Manchester City. Gonzalo Jara was also sent off for West Brom at Blackpool after a dangerous lunge on Luke Varney and he will serve a ban for the offence.
