Winger wants Bayern team-mate to follow in his footsteps by inking new deal

Franck Ribery is hopeful that Bayern Munich team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger will remain at the club. Germany international Schweinsteiger has been linked with a move away from Bayern after admitting to his interest in plying his trade in the Premier League. Like Schweinsteiger, Ribery's future at the Allianz Arena was the subject of conjecture, until the French attacker signed a new deal with the club in May. And Ribery admits it would be a major boost for Bayern should the 26-year-old follow in his footsteps by committing to the German giants. He told Bild am Sonntag weekly: "I am hoping to see him sign on, maybe also up to 2015, like I did back in May. "I have a good understanding with Bastian. He has emerged as a world-class player. "Players like him are extremely important to further progress in European club competitions."
