Defender Peter Ramage feels QPR have become genuine promotion contenders following the arrival of Neil Warnock.
The Hoops remain unbeaten in the Championship this season, with 14 games played, and currently sit second in the table behind Cardiff.
Before former Sheffield United and Crystal Palace boss Warnock arrived at Loftus Road in March, QPR had been through eight different managers in the last four years, with limited success.
But ex-Newcastle full-back Ramage, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, says the 61-year-old boss has united the club with the sole aim of achieving automatic promotion.
"He has just come in and breathed a bit of fresh air into the whole club really," said Ramage.
"He is a bubbly character, as everybody knows, and that makes the boys enjoy coming into work every day.
"He has that aura around him that you kind of get infected by in a good way, which has shown in the way we have started the season.
"He is one of the best managers that I have come across during my career and I am really looking forward to getting back towards the end of the season and being part of his plan."
The Hoops boast a four-point gap over third-placed Swansea, with many tipping the London outfit to finish inside the top two this season, but Ramage insists that no one is getting carried away just yet.
He said: "The gaffer has brought in a lot of good players this summer, which has added to the boys that we have already got and helped create a lot of optimism that we could challenge for promotion this season.
"We have had a great start, but we know that we are only just over a quarter of the way through the season and we need to continue working hard to keep going at the pace that we have started at.
"There is a long way to go and we know that injuries, suspensions and other factors will play their part, but we are confident in the gaffer's ability to cope with potential problems like those."
