Bayern Munich believe they are close to agreeing a compensation deal with the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) over Arjen Robben.
The star damaged his thigh helping Holland reach the World Cup final in South Africa this summer and is not expected to return to Bayern's colours until January at least.
Bayern have been chasing the KNVB for compensation since August after the Dutch allowed the winger to play most of the tournament despite suffering the injury in a warm-up win over Hungary on 5th June.
The Bundesliga champions had threatened to take the matter to court but Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident a deal can now be reached without taking legal action.
After revealing the Dutch have acknowledged some responsibility for Robben's injury, Rummenigge told the German press: "I am cautiously optimistic that we can reach agreement without going up in court.
"We have agreed to meet again in the near future."
Robben is set to resume training in the coming days but is only expected back when the Bundesliga resumes after the winter break in January.
