Forward could keep captaincy despite dismissal

Hibernian captain Derek Riordan has apologised for his sending off against Hearts in the Edinburgh derby. New Hibs boss Colin Calderwood was left fuming with Riordan following his dismissal late on during the 2-0 defeat to their city rivals for a dangerous tackle on Rudi Skacel. Calderwood was thought to be considering taking the captaincy off Riordan following the misdemeanour after giving him the role just last week. However, Calderwood has hinted Riordan could stay on as captain after apologising to his team-mates and being fined by the club for the sending off. "I spoke to Derek and he knows where we stand. We have taken action," said Calderwood. "Will I give him another chance as captain? Definitely at some stage."
