Leeds United striker Davide Somma has been rewarded with a new three-year contract after impressing in the Championship this season.
Somma joined Leeds 12 months ago following a trial, but the South African had to bide his time for a chance at Elland Road.
He had loan spells with Chesterfield and Lincoln City last term, and particularly impressed at Sincil Bank by scoring nine goals in 14 appearances.
The 25-year-old has netted six times in 11 Championship outings for Leeds this season and is delighted to have earned a new deal.
"I'm delighted to sign," Somma told the club's official website. "When I came here to try out and I never imagined I would be in this position.
"Last season I thought I did what I had to do when I went out on loan, and that gave me the extra confidence to come back here.
"I've worked hard and the club have acknowledged that, and I'm really happy to sign a three-year contract.
"I can concentrate on the games and I'm signed and ready to go. The aim for me is to get goals and play a part in getting the club in the Premier League.
"It's been a great start to the season, there's great staff here, and it's a great club to be at."
