Dundee United winger Craig Conway is set for a fresh stint on the sidelines as is scheduled to undergo a cartilage operation.
It has been a season to forget to date for the 25-year-old after already missing a chunk of the campaign with a knee injury.
Conway had been working his way back to fitness, but will now be out for at least two months due to the surgery.
His absence could not have come at a worse time on the back of a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to St Mirren on Wednesday.
Terrors boss Peter Houston says a scan has confirmed the damage and that he will be out of action for some time to come.
"Conway's going in for an operation on Tuesday for a tear in his cartilage the scan has shown up," explained Houston.
"We're not going to get him back quickly."
