Sunderland winger happy to prolong Bramall Lane stay

Andy Reid has admitted that he would be happy to extend his loan spell at Sheffield United. The Republic of Ireland international is coming towards the end of a one-month stint at Bramall Lane, with Saturday's home date with Crystal Palace set to see him sign off. He has, however, left the door open for the Blades to discuss a possible extension to his deal with parent club Sunderland. United boss Gary Speed has already expressed his desire to keep the winger for a prolonged period of time, suggesting an agreement could be struck. Reid, who bagged the Blades' winner against Millwall on Saturday to lift them out of the relegation zone, would have no qualms in staying put, as he needs regular games in order to rebuild his fitness following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Enjoyable

He said: "Life's good at Sheffield. "Everyone's been good to me, the manager, the players, fans, everybody. So it's enjoyable. "I want to get games in and see how it goes from there. "I'm just going to get on with playing football and let people who deal with that side of things sort that out. "Just get on the pitch and play. That's all I want to do."
