Skysports.com understands a host of clubs are readying moves for Swindon hot-shot Charlie Austin in the January transfer window.
Austin is one of the hottest properties in English football following his goalscoring exploits for Swindon since his arrival from Poole Town last October.
The 21-year-old has scored a staggering 30 goals in just 53 games for the League One outfit, making him a target for a plethora of clubs higher up the football pyramid.
Despite missing several games with a shoulder injury this season, Austin has managed to net 10 goals in all competitions and Swindon are braced for more interest from rival clubs in the New Year
Millwall saw a couple of bids rejected for Austin in the last transfer window and they are still believed to be keeping tabs on the prolific forward.
Portsmouth were also credited with an interest in Austin in the summer and they could rekindle their interest in January.
Championship hopefuls Queens Park Rangers are thought to be tracking Austin along with the likes of Burnley and Southampton as they look to bolster their attacking options.
However, Swindon are reluctant to lose their prize asset and have opened talks with Austin over a new deal to try and ward off his suitors.
Austin was rewarded for his sparkling form with a new two-year deal last February and Swindon are keen to agree a new improved deal with the player.
Swindon boss Danny Wilson confirmed they are in talks with the player over a new deal, saying: "We're looking to extend the period that he's with us.
"The farthest thing from our mind is letting Charlie go."
