Right-back declares himself fit for weekend

Ronald Zubar has declared himself fit to hand Wolves a boost ahead of the visit of Sunderland on Saturday. The right-back has been limited to just half-an-hour of Premier League action this season after suffering groin and then ankle problems. However, 25-year-old Zubar came through a midweek reserve game against Arsenal without problems, and has announced himself available for the Black Cats clash. "I feel fine and am available to be in the squad for Saturday," said Zubar. "My ankle is fine and there hasn't been any reaction, which is good. Now it's up to the gaffer."

Limited

Zubar's only taste of the Premier League this term has been as a substitute against Newcastle at Molineux in late August. His lone start of the campaign was four days earlier against Southend in the Carling Cup. The stopper can also play at centre-back and took that position for the reserve match with the Gunners. But, with Jody Craddock and Christophe Berra suspended, Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is expected to retain Richard Stearman and Steven Mouyokolo in central defence.
