Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has tipped on-loan Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley as a future England star.
The 21-year-old is on a season-long loan from the Red Devils, although United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted he could be recalled in January such have been his impressive displays.
Martinez is delighted to have him among his ranks for now and believes the England Under 21 international will make the senior Three Lions squad.
The Latics chief told The Sun: "He's only 21 but you look at his performances against Liverpool and West Brom and you can see the huge potential.
"Tom's tactical awareness is not normal for such a young man. I don't think we have seen many cases like him before.
"Without doubt, I see him as a Three Lions player.
"There's a really exciting group of players coming through - Jack Wilshere, Jordan Henderson, Tom and Victor Moses.
"They are still young but all have a great tactical awareness. They are going to be the future of English football.
"Now Tom has to concentrate on his football and keep his standards really high.
"He's got the motivation to improve and, hopefully, that's going to give us a lot of points and happy faces at Wigan."
Third-from-bottom Wigan face a crunch clash at bottom side West Ham on Saturday and Martinez fully appreciates the importance of the game.
He added: "We've heard it before but to be a manager, you need to be a little bit mad.
"You win three games you are the king of the world but you lose three and you are a criminal. The pressure is part of the job.
"The reality is this game is a final within a league competition.
"It's such an important game for both teams and it's something we have to be prepared for."
