Darren Purse is happy a deal has been agreed to secure Sheffield Wednesday's future and insists the players have not been affected by the club's financial troubles.
The League One club have been fending off winding-up orders, but have found a saviour in the shape of Milan Mandaric, who agreed a buy-out over the weekend.
Wednesday's form has not been harmed by the off-field issues in recent weeks, with Saturday's FA Cup win over Northampton Town a sixth successive victory in all competitions.
Captain Purse is now looking forward to a positive future for the club after admitting the players have been solely focused on picking up results.
"We know there's been a lot of speculation about the state of things off the field and how it might have undermined the players," said Purse.
"But it's not affected the lads. That might be hard for some people to believe, particularly when you remember Steven Gerrard's comments about how the ownership battle was affecting the Liverpool squad.
"Maybe we've been fortunate in having a group who focus solely on what's happening on the pitch.
"It's not been easy to do that but we all have come to the same conclusion - that what has been going on with the ownership issue is something we couldn't control.
"The takeover has now been resolved and we are all delighted about that."
