Portsmouth star Hayden Mullins admits that most of the squad are being forced to play through the pain barrier.
Having only recently come out of administration, the Championship club have been left with a very thin squad.
Because of their lack of numbers, Mullins has admitted that he and a number of team-mates are playing on despite being injured.
"Sometimes you get knocks and niggles," admitted Mullins. "I've had a bit of a knee problem lately but you just have to get on with it.
"In other circumstances, I might have had a week or two off to get it right but I've taken a few jabs and painkillers to get through games.
"It's part of life but a few of the boys are in the same boat.
"We all know the situation at the club so it's not something we're going to moan about. We want to play and we're all working hard for each other. We showed that against Swansea."
Squad harmony
Mullins concedes a couple of new additions in January would be welcome but he admits the current squad have a great understanding.
He added: "We all know we are in this together with a small group of us but I'm sure the gaffer would like another couple of bodies in to help us out.
"If we get a couple of injuries that are enough to keep players out, we are really down to the bare bones and we don't want that.
"All we can do is concentrate on what happens on the pitch, make sure we recover properly between games and keep working hard.
"We are all pulling in the same direction and the club looks like it is getting stronger all the time.
"After the problems we've had at this club, we're all looking to go in one direction and that's up. The fans are a big part of that as well."
