Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce admits keeping David Dunn fit will be key to Blackburn's ambitions this season.
The midfielder has struggled with niggling knocks in the past, denying him the opportunity to play as many games as he would have liked.
He is, however, still a classy operator when on top of his game and is capable of illuminating the Premier League on his day.
Allardyce is fully aware of how useful a fully-charged Dunn will be to him this season and hopes he can steer clear of the treatment table for a prolonged period of time.
He said: "David scored nine goals and was a very important part of our success story last year, but it's about making sure we look after him.
"When David's fit he's very important to the team, not just as a player but as a person."
Dunn was among the goals for Blackburn on Saturday as they saw off Wolves 3-0 at Ewood Park.
Brett Emerton and Ryan Nelsen were also on target as Rovers erased the painful memories of a 7-1 mauling at Manchester United over the course of 90 minutes.
Allardyce is pleased to see his troops making the most of the opportunities which come their way, with goals having been something of a problem in the recent past.
He added: "It usually doesn't happen until the back end of the season, which is when the players get most of their time off. At this stage for me it is all about recovery because the games are coming thick and fast.
"The goals have started to come and we've balanced them with clean sheets and that's why we've won four games out of six.
"We thought goals this season would be a struggle for us but in the last six games we've scored two in four of them, one in one and three in one. We were clinical and professional and I picked an experienced side that did their job."
