Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade insists he will do everything in his power to keep midfield star Dean Cox at the club beyond January.
The 26-year-old, who worked with Slade at Brighton, joined the Os in the summer and has made a great start to life at Brisbane Road with five goals to date.
However, the tricky winger's impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with a number of potential admirers weighing up a move in January.
Slade has praised Cox's contribution for the League One club and is hopeful he can hang on to Orient's star performers.
"He has done really well and there are a few who have been playing well, with Alex Revell scoring 11 goals so far and Coxy scoring five goals from a wide position," Slade told skysports.com.
"They've made huge contributions so far and I'm sure that there will be a little bit of interest in them come January, but nobody has actually registered that interest with me yet and we are in the process of trying to build a football club here and they are a very important part of that."
Despite Slade's bid to keep the winger he admits that Cox is destined to play at a higher level in the future.
Slade added: "He had been at Brighton since the age of 10 or 11 and to break away from that would have been hard for him, but he has got himself out into the outside world and has come on leaps and bounds since moving to London.
"He is maturing as a person as well as a player and he is still young with a lot of development left to go and if he works at his game and shows the willingness and right attitude then he will only get better.
"If he does that then there is no question that he will go on to play at a higher level one day."
