Didier Drogba admits he is 'overwhelmed' by emotion as he prepares to make his comeback at former club Marseille with Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Striking ace Drogba spent only one season at the Stade Velodrome but fast became a fans' favourite as he helped the Ligue 1 outfit to the Uefa Cup final in 2004.
He arrived at Stamford Bridge in the same year, but later revealed he had wanted to remain at Marseille for the rest of his career.
Both Chelsea and Marseille have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League knock-out stage, with the Blues finishing top of Group F, but Ivorian star Drogba is expecting an emotional return when Carlo Ancelotti's men visit the French side in their dead rubber tie.
"I am a bit overwhelmed by all this but it's okay," Drogba told Marseille's official website.
"I try not to mix everything but I am so overwhelmed by so many emotions that I don't really know how to deal with this situation.
"It feels funny. It's the first time I have been in this kind of situation."
Chelsea faced Marseille at home earlier in the season, producing a 2-0 triumph, but Drogba was absent for that clash due to suspension.
Wednesday's encounter will mark the first time the striker has taken on his former employees since his departure six years ago.
