Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is hoping his side can pile more misery on Chelsea with an energetic start when the two teams meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The Blues make the short trip to Spurs for a London derby this weekend with the Premier League champions currently on a poor run of form.
Carlo Ancelotti's men have won just two of their last eight games in all competitions and surrendered their 100 per cent record in the UEFA Champions League this term with a midweek defeat to Marseille.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are on a seven-match unbeaten run and Gomes believes they can continue their fine stretch on Sunday.
"At the beginning, we need to press them - like we did last season," he said.
"I think we can do it again against them. We play at home and, when we play at home, I think we are more strong than away from home.
"I think they are inconsistent at the moment.
"We play at home but we need to be careful against them. They are still a great side."
Spurs managed a 3-3 draw with FC Twente in midweek to assure qualification for the Champions League knockout rounds as group winners.
Gomes says the focus must now return to domestic matters, and the Brazilian shot-stopper, 29, says it is an open title race.
"The focus now is the Premier League and we're still fighting for the title," he added.
"I think the gap is close, you know? It's a little gap.
"I think the title race is open for everybody. This season is more difficult for everyone.
"We must keep going and try to pick up points because we need it."
