Baggies midfielder eyes Villa scalp

Chris Brunt believes West Brom can see off Aston Villa on Saturday and finish as the Midlands' top club. The Baggies are due at Villa Park this weekend for their latest derby date of the season. With Villa currently stuck in a rut, it would appear to be an ideal time for Roberto Di Matteo's men to be locking horns with their local rivals. In-form Brunt feels that is the case and hopes another three-point haul against Villa can help West Brom achieve their target of ending the campaign as the region's top side. "A lot of people would probably say it is a good time to play Aston Villa," admitted the midfielder, who is set to shake off a groin injury in time to play in the match.

Rough time

"They have had some poor results recently. They have had a bit of a rough time. The fact they are low on confidence might play into our hands as we are the opposite at the minute. "It is one we are looking forward to and believe we can win the game. We owe Villa a couple of games from the last time we were in the Premier League. "Birmingham, Aston Villa and Wolves have that little bit more Premier League experience than us, but we are the highest Midlands team at the minute. "You have to think big to achieve and things have been going pretty well lately."
