Hapoel Tel Aviv striker Itay Shechter has claimed Celtic are pulling out all the stops to sign the Israel international.
The 23-year-old has scored 30 goals in 54 games for the Israeli champions after joining them in July 2009.
And Shechter, who has scored twice in nine international appearances, has also caught the eye during his club's Champions League campaign this season.
Those performances alerted Hapoel's Group B opponents Schalke and, although Shechter insists Celtic are his biggest admirers, he believes Germany's Bundesliga would be a better destination.
"I have offers from several teams but my agent, Ronen Katsav, told me not to get carried away," he said.
"The one team who really want me and have made the most effort is Celtic.
"Liverpool and Lyon came to see me play but unfortunately I was injured. There is interest from Schalke and that would be the best move for me.
"I think Hapoel will want to keep me in January because we need the team to stay together if we want to win the league.
"But I would be tempted if I got an offer from England, Spain, or Germany."
