Aussie ace looking to improve even more in front of goal
Everton star Tim Cahill has expressed his disappointment at the number of goals he has scored for the Merseysiders this season.
The Australia international has again been a key performer for David Moyes' charges this term and has eight Premier League goals to his name.
However, the ex-Millwall man believes he could and should have scored more, although he has been working harder on staying fit and being available.
"I probably should be on a few more goals than I already have," said Cahill.
"I think this year I have focused a lot more on trying to stay fit. As you get older people question you and they seem to try and find holes in your game.
"Once you have been at a club for a long time it gets harder rather than easier and I want to keep giving my best every single day."
Everton tackle Manchester City on Monday night and Cahill believes his club's camaraderie is almost more valuable than Roberto Mancini's expensively assembled squad.
Despite the gulf in funds between the clubs Cahill has no qualms about going toe-to-toe with the Eastlands counterparts and is backing his team to mix it up with anyone.
"Man City are a big team now with where they are in the table and in the world of football," he continued.
"What has happened there is a dream come true for them but it is also hard for them to put all those ingredients together in a way that will give them a team with longevity.
"What we have here is a close group, a good base of lads who love the club and with youngsters coming through constantly - I wouldn't want it any other way.
"They have got some big names but we are capable of competing with anyone."
