Skysports.com understands Hull City could face competition from rival Championship clubs to extend the loan of Cameron Stewart.
The teenager is currently on loan at the KC Stadium from Manchester United and his deal with the Tigers expires early in the New Year.
Stewart has impressed in making three appearances for Hull and manager Nigel Pearson is hoping to hang on to the attacking midfielder.
"I'd like him to stay, I'd think that was fairly obvious," said Pearson in the Hull Daily Mail.
"His ability to run with the ball with pace is a big threat. Pace in any side gives you a different dimension.
"He looked very dangerous playing alongside Jay Simpson on Saturday. When you've got youth and enthusiasm up front, it's always a plus."
However, it is understood that Cardiff City and Leeds United are both interested in the 19-year-old and could try to sign the Red Devils youngster on loan when the transfer window reopens.
Stewart, meanwhile, admits he is unsure regarding his long-term future as his contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season.
He said: "I've only got six months left on my contract at United and I don't know if it's going to get extended.
"I'm really unsure at the moment so I've come here to play first-team football, get my name out there and then see where I am at the end of the season."
