Peter Odemwingie has vowed to put his misfiring display against Bolton Wanderers in the past when West Bromwich Albion meet Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.
The Nigerian missed several chances as the Baggies lost at the Reebok Stadium on Boxing Day and he appeared to be suffering the impact of a recent injury.
To make matters worse, Odemwingie suffered a knock to his foot in the first half against Bolton and he could have been substituted.
However, he battled through the pain and is now ready for Blackburn, as he said in the Birmingham Mail: "We had some chances to at least get a point (against Bolton). We had five chances but we will keep our heads high.
"You can have bad days but at least we're creating. As a striker it is good and secure when you get chances.
"There are games where nothing goes in but as a striker you need the confidence that those chances will come."
He continued: "As for my injury, I was okay. I missed last week but I wasn't rusty. Perhaps I was not in the best shape so I should be fine by Blackburn.
"In the first 10 minutes I got a hard kick. I could have gone off but it was a good decision to stay on.
"I refused to believe anything was wrong but eventually the pain got too much. The doctor gave me some anti-inflammatory treatment but I will be okay for Tuesday.
"It's the first time I've played two games in a week so I will know how it feels. We are happy, positive and we are still playing with a smile."
