Gers playmaker hoping striker sees out the season

Rangers midfielder Steven Davis hopes at the very least that star striker Kenny Miller stays with the club for the rest of the season. Miller has been Walter Smith's stand-out player so far this term with a whopping 21 league goals from just 16 appearances. However, the 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and it had been mooted the club could cash in on him in the New Year. Kris Boyd left the Glasgow giants on a free transfer last season and now Turkish giants Bursaspor are reportedly tracking Miller. Davis is a huge fan of Miller and hopes that, even if he decides to leave Ibrox, he stays with the Light Blues for the rest of the campaign.

Worst case

"Worst-case scenario, he has to stay until the end of the season for us," explained Davis. "If he decides it's right for him to move on after that, then that's his choice. "For us, as a team, with the amount of goals he has scored and the form he has been in, it's imperative that we keep him at the club until the end of the season at least." He added: "I hope he stays. We've seen it with a couple of players over the last couple of seasons, like Boydy and Nacho (Novo). "Unfortunately, the club hasn't been able to offer them deals that they maybe would have liked. "That's down to each player personally but I think ultimately Kenny would like to stay and he has enjoyed his time here."
