Ali Al Habsi felt Wigan Athletic were unlucky not to take maximum points from Arsenal's visit to the DW Stadium.
The Latics goalkeeper was part of the side that came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw with Arsene Wenger's title challengers on Wednesday.
Wigan had taken the lead through Ben Watson's penalty but the Gunners looked to be heading for victory when Andrey Arshavin and Nicklas Bendtner put the visitors ahead.
However, a stirring second-half performance in spite of Charles N'Zogbia's red card, saw Roberto Martinez's side grab a share of the spoils and Al Habsi was delighted with the performance.
"It was a fantastic point for us," he told the club's official website. "But to be honest we deserved more than that because for the first half we controlled the game and had more chances than them."
Al Habsi was impressed by the way Wigan responded to N'Zogbia's dismissal in the second half.
The Gunners showed earlier in the season how they can dominate teams with 10 men after thrashing Manchester City, but they came unstuck as the Latics fought back to claim the draw.
Wigan's shot-stopper added: "To play with ten men against Arsenal is always difficult but I think the lads did well to concentrate and eventually get the goal.
"We had the same desire as last year and to be honest, although we could possibly have got more from the game, we are not too disappointed as it was an important point for us."
The result means Wigan are unbeaten in four games and Al Habsi wants their streak to continue when Newcastle visit the DW on Sunday.
"We need to take these performances against Stoke, Everton, Wolves and now Arsenal into the game against Newcastle," he said.
"It's going to be a huge game on Sunday and we have to win to get us up the table. We have to enjoy ourselves and enjoy our football to continue moving away from the relegation zone."
