Defender tipped to leave Forest on a free transfer

Skysports.com understands Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson is ready to agree a pre-contract deal to join Celtic. Wilson is out of contract at the City Ground at the end of the season and he is now able to discuss a Bosman transfer with clubs outside of England. The 25-year-old has been a long-term target for Celtic and the SPL giants have previously seen a £1million bid turned down. However, the Bhoys are now understood to be close to landing their man and are aiming to finalise a pre-contract for Wilson to move to Parkhead at the end of the season. Forest boss Billy Davies has previously admitted that the club risk losing Wilson for nothing, but was hoping to persuade the centre-half to sign a new contract. Wilson has made over 130 appearances since joining the club from Preston in 2007, having started his career at Forest's local rivals Notts County.
