Motherwell's new manager Stuart McCall has confirmed he would like to retain Blackburn striker Nick Blackman on loan.
The 21-year-old impressed during his time at Fir Park with 10 SPL goals, although his loan spell has now expired.
McCall has held talks with Blackman's agent and insists any deal is now down to whether Blackburn are willing to let him leave.
Former Well boss Craig Brown, now of Aberdeen, has also been linked, but McCall is confident his club will not miss out.
"I spoke to his agent last night and he'll be speaking to Blackburn on Monday and it's really all down to them," McCall said.
"If they want to put him back out on loan I would be confident. The lad has enjoyed his spell here.
"I know he has been linked with Craig and Archie at Aberdeen and a couple of other clubs but if he comes back north of the border we would be confident it would be us.
"But it all lies with Blackburn and what their plans are."
McCall also has decisions to make over Alan Gow and Marc Fitzpatrick, whose contracts are up in the middle of the month.
He said: "I've not seen much of them, I obviously know the history of Gowser.
"They are both available for next week I'm sure, so we will have a look at them this week.
"People have to go out for me to bring in. We'll have a little look and maybe wheel and deal if we can."
