The Football Association are believed to be looking into events during Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie between Blackburn and QPR.
Rovers' 1-0 win at Ewood Park was overshadowed by a severe injury for Rangers striker Jamie Mackie, who suffered a broken leg in a tackle with Gael Givet.
While he was lying injured, Mackie was reportedly taunted by Blackburn forward El-Hadji Diouf, leading QPR boss Neil Warnock to call the Senegal international the "lowest of the low" and a "nasty little person" after the game.
Blackburn have yet to make any comment about the conduct of Diouf, who has been involved in a number of controversial incidents during his time in England.
The 29-year-old joined Liverpool from Lens in 2002 before going on to play for Bolton and Sunderland, signing for Blackburn in January 2009.
