Wolves appear to be on the brink of signing Leigh Griffiths after Dundee received a formal offer for the forward.
The Premier League strugglers' manager, Mick McCarthy, announced on Monday that he was still searching for possible signings in the transfer window.
Wolves are in relegation danger and it would appear that Scotland Under 21 international Griffiths has been targeted as a man who could help in the fight for top-flight survival.
Dundee chief executive Harry MacLean has not revealed the identity of the source of the approach, but it is reported to have been from Molineux and administrators will now consider the offer.
"If there is a sensible bid, and the type of money we are talking about is reasonably sensible, then the administrator will decide," said MacLean.

"The chances are Leigh will have to leave the club in the near future."
Scottish First Division club Dundee had hoped to immediately to re-sign Griffiths, 20, on loan, but the Scottish Football League has refused to lift their transfer embargo despite the unusual circumstances.
"They talked about the integrity of the league and it giving us an unfair advantage," said MacLean.
"The purpose was not to gain an advantage, it was purely to give the administrator some money to allow us to exit administration and retain our squad of 11 or 12 players to give a game on a Saturday to every team in the league.
"Unfortunately that is not going to be the case. Keeping one of Scotland's finest young talents in the First Division would have been good for the league and the player moving to the English Premiership would have been good exposure for the league."
