Another three lined up for Qatarian owned club

Big spending Malaga are hopeful of concluding a host of deals over the weekend. The Qatari-owned Primera Liga club have already signalled their intention to turn their season around by investing heavily this month. They have already captured Julio Baptista, Ignacio Camacho, Sergio Asenjo, Enzo Maresca and Martin Demichelis, and now they are set to add to that with potentially another three players. First on the list is Gabriel Milito, who has already shunned moves to England, and he looks set to accept a move to Malaga rather than a switch to Serie A, where Napoli and Genoa want him. Milito has been offered a two-and-half year deal to leave Barcelona which he looks set to agree. They have also moved for Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, who is surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu. Diarra could move on a free transfer on a deal until the end of the season with a view to extending that. They are also close to sealing a deal with Sampdoria for former Tottenham ace Reto Ziegler. The highly-rated left-sider is set to cost in the region of €5million and Malaga look to have fended off strong competition from a number of Premier League clubs to land the Swiss star. Finally, the club are also close to finalising a deal for River Plate midfielder Diego Bounanotte. The 22-year-old is seen as one of the most promising midfielders in Argentina and has been linked with many clubs in Europe, but he now looks on his way to Malaga. However, Bounanotte is being signed with next season in mind and will be allowed to remain with River until June. With all the players arriving at the club, at least three players are expected to depart in the coming week.
