Egypt international returns to former club in a bid to win deal

Tony Mowbray has warned Mido not to expect a lucrative deal as he returned to train with Middlesbrough. The 27-year-old has is back in the North East after leaving Ajax where his contract was terminated by mutual consent. Mido had left the Riverside last summer to sign with the Dutch giants on a free transfer and has impressed Mowbray with his fitness in training. However, the Boro boss has stated the club are not in a position to offer the maverick striker the type of contract he enjoyed in his previous spell at the Riverside. Mowbray said: "He's asked to come in and train. He looks in decent shape and he's trained extremely hard. "He's done double sessions every day and he's very keen to show he's fit. "But Mido coming back on the contract he was on before he left last summer is not a scenario that will happen."
