Steven Whittaker is confident Kenny Miller will remain committed to leading Rangers to glory this season even if he signs a pre-contract agreement with another club.
The 31-year-old striker has had offers from Birmingham and Italian side Fiorentina, and his agent, Dave Baldwin, is currently in Turkey for talks with Bursaspor.
Birmingham still hope to secure an immediate move and will reopen talks on Monday, but as Miller is out of contract at the end of the season, he could instead agree to a free transfer in the summer after finishing the campaign with Rangers.
The 22-goal frontman put in a poor performance as he returned to the side for Saturday's 4-0 win over Hamilton and was jeered by a section of the Ibrox crowd when he appeared to pull out of a second-half challenge.
But team-mate Whittaker insists fans need not worry if Miller does stay on for another six months while he has a deal agreed elsewhere.
"Kenny hasn't indicated to us what he's going to do but as long as he's here, training and available for selection, he'll be treated as one of the boys," he told the Daily Record.
"When he decides to stay or go we'll wish him all the best. Kenny's been a great servant here.
"Do we want a quick decision? I don't think that's a factor for the boys. If he's here, he's a quality player who is a big part of our team. We want him to play if he's here.
"If he goes, we have Nikica Jelavic coming back to fitness, Kyle Lafferty is playing well at the moment and we've got Steven Naismith as well.
"So we've got boys there to fill Kenny's boots. Kenny has to look after his own career and only he can make the decision.
"He's shown he can score goals for Rangers and if he stays there's no doubt in my mind he would continue to do that.
"He's got a great attitude and has proved that over the years. He closes down defenders and works so hard for the team.
"I'm sure he would continue to do that no matter what, even if he signed a pre-contract somewhere else."
