Kilmarnock striker Connor Sammon insists leaving the club for Scunthorpe United was not the right move for him.
The 24-year-old Irishman held talks with the Iron recently after the club agreed a bid for his services.
However, despite being given the star treatment at Glanford Park he did not feel that it was the move he sought.
Sammon was flattered by Scunthorpe's interest, but he is now looking forward to tackling Dundee United this weekend.
"Any move has got to be right for me," he told the
Daily Record. "When Kilmarnock accepted the fee I didn't know what I was going to do.
Tough choice
"I took my time over the decision. It was a tough choice because to go and play in the Championship is a big chance for a young player.
"But I felt it wasn't what I wanted. I'm back here and I'm looking forward to playing Dundee United.
"I went down to Scunthorpe and met their chairman and manager. They were good to me and showed me around the club.
"Scunthorpe made me a great offer and I took my time to think about it. "They didn't put any pressure on me to sign.
"So I thought about it and just didn't think it was the right move.
"I do look at this season being a big success for me so far and I think I can keep progressing. I felt it wasn't right for me but I'm flattered Scunthorpe were interested."
